The Australian celebrity chef Dan Churchill (picture) has offered his simple recipe with six ingredients for the perfect preparation of fried chicken
The former MasterChef Australia star first patted the skin dry with a paper towel before sprinkling the chicken with a generous amount of olive oil and lemon juice.
Next, Dan seasoned the skin well with salt and black pepper, then rubbed it all over the surface of the chicken along with crushed garlic.
The cook stuffed a lemon wedge and rosemary into the chicken. He tied the ends of the drumsticks together with string.
In a cast iron pan over medium heat, Dan carefully sautéed shallots and thyme with oil to create a vegetable patch for the roast.
He put the chicken in the same pan, propped it upright, breast up, and roasted it in the oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the juices were clear, if a knife was stabbed between the breast and thigh.

Many home cooks praised Dan for sharing his very simple recipe, while others said they couldn’t wait to try it at home.
“They make it look easy,” wrote one woman while another added, “I’ll definitely be doing this soon.”
Meanwhile, one person suggested another tip for a crispy skin, saying, “Fry it upside down and color it brown in the last 20 minutes.”
Dan, a qualified fitness instructor, caused a storm in the food world after appearing on MasterChef Australia’s fifth series in 2013.
