The genre, like any other, has its hallmarks: the meet-cute (or sometimes the meet-dislike). The Will-They-or-Will-They tension. The wildly unrealistic obstacle that keeps the main couple apart. The supportive but cheeky best friend. And yet, if a film really does it, there’s nothing like two wildly attractive people who admit their love for one another.
