The Health Board has fined Music Nights OÜ, the operator of the Urban Bar in Tallinn, a fine of € 1,500 for violating the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The Health Board had previously launched surveillance proceedings against the company after it was discovered that it had failed to comply with coronavirus restrictions.
Üllar Lanno, director general of the Health Board, said the aim of the procedure is to alert the company to the violation that has been committed and to instruct the company to comply with the requirements imposed by a government order.
“As a result of the supervisory process, we issued a bid to the company by which we obliged the company to comply with applicable requirements to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Lanno.
A joint inspection by the Health Board and the Police and Border Guard Board on December 18 revealed that the requirements set out in the regulation had not been met. Again, a large number of people met on the Urban Bar grounds, at which the organizers had not ensured that the people were dispersed or that masks were worn.
