At least one new COVID-19 case has been reported in each of Estonia’s 15 counties.
As in previous days, the majority of the cases came in Harju County (317, including 250 in Tallinn) and Ida-Viru County (141 cases).
29 new cases were recorded in Tartu County, 14 in Lääne-Viru County, 12 in Võru County and 10 in Valga County.
Nine cases were found in Pärnu, Põlva and Rapla countries, seven in Järva County and three in Viljandi County.
Hiiumaa, Saaremaa and Lääne County have picked up two new coronavirus cases, one of which Jõgeva County has published.
In addition, eight new COVID-19 cases had no place of residence for the individuals concerned. The Health Board uses the population register in compiling its location data.
3,674 primary coronavirus tests were performed in the past 24 hours, with 575 cases, or 15.7 percent of the total, returned.
Estonia’s 14-day coronavirus rate per 100,000 population is now 573.9.
On the morning of December 25, 384 people were hospitalized for COVID-19, up from 365 the previous day. Six people with COVID-19 died in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths related to the virus in Estonia since the pandemic started to 202.
