“Our dear colleagues from Ida Viru Central Hospital are asking for volunteers,” wrote the North Estonia Medical Center (PERH) on social media. “Anyone with a medical education, including college students, is welcome. Students who started their studies in the fall are also encouraged to enroll,” the message said.
People can sign up on the vaab.ee website, which also has information about the nearest hospital or nursing home that needs assistance.
“We are in a situation in which we no longer have enough staff to care for the patients. If you can help, please register at vaab.ee,” wrote the Health Board on Saturday evening.
Saaremaa Hospital also needed volunteers during the spring COVID-19 wave after a tenth of its 400 employees were infected with the virus.
