NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – Kazakhstan’s Minister for Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Magzum Mirzagaliyevduring a meeting with the Hungarian ambassador Mihai Galoshfai urged Hungarian companies to undertake joint projects in the field of geological exploration, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology announced on November 30th.
“We have an interest in strengthening Kazakh-Hungarian cooperation in the field of geology. Today, compared to other large mining areas, favorable operating conditions have been created for effective geological exploration work related to assessing prospects for areas for many types of mineral raw materials in Kazakhstan, ”said Mirzagaliyev.
In addition, the minister announced that this year a draft state exploration program for the period 2021-2025 has been drawn up, open to all investors who invest their funds in all phases of geological exploration, from regional research to obtaining the right want to use under the surface.
At the same time, the introduction of the National Bank of Mineral Resources information system is planned for mid-2021. One of the tasks is to introduce the principle of a “single window” for investors and operators of underground users by simplifying access to processes using underground. The system enables the collection of geological reports, mineral reserve balances, certificates of deposits, data for surveying the area and other geological information in a single database.
Mirzagaliyev Sand Galoshfai also discussed issues relating to existing cooperation between countries in the field of water resource management. A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of water resources management was signed between Kazakhstan and Hungary, and when it was implemented, an agreement was reached on the creation of a joint group of experts.
“Despite the pandemic, our countries must develop cooperation in this direction and form a joint group of experts in the near future. In addition, I would like to thank Hungary for the support of Hungary in the context of the Kazakh Presidency of the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes and for the technical support in the work with the projects “Sustainable Distribution of Water Resources in a Transboundary Context” and ” Ecological runoff – the basis for an ecological nature conservation system, ”said the Kazakh minister of ecology.
During the meeting, Mirzagaliyev also urged Hungarian companies to participate in the implementation of projects to solve problems related to air pollution in the Aktobe region, as well as current problems of Lake Balkhash in the Karaganda region (central Kazakhstan) and Mangystau participate region (Western Kazakhstan).
Despite the current situation with the pandemic in the world, Kazakh-Hungarian trade and economic relations are characterized by stable growth. Trade revenue between the two countries was $ 84.9 million from January to September 2020, 12.2% more than the same period.
