The NHS has already given 11 percent of people over 80 in England their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, data shows.
Healthcare chiefs announced today that between December 8 and December 20, 366,715 people aged 80 or older were vaccinated – the group at greatest risk of dying from Covid-19.
The Office for National Statistics estimates that there are 3.4 million people in this age group in England, which shows that one in ten has already had their first stitch.
