Can anyone afford Kylian Mbappe ?! The hottest property in football “scares off even the mega-rich Manchester City with demands for £ 600,000 a week” as Pep Guardiola steps up his hunt for Sergio Aguero’s longtime successor
- Manchester City are looking to sign a top striker in this summer’s transfer window
- The club will not switch for Kylian Mbappe because of his enormous wage demands
- The French star has been reported to aim to earn around £ 600,000 a week
- The city wants to maintain its wage structure and harmony in the dressing room
- Erling Haaland is a target, but there is interest in Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku
Manchester City are not pursuing PSG striker Kylian Mbappe for not intending to break their wage structure to meet his weekly demands of £ 600,000.
According to The Athletic, the French star, despite his impressive form in Ligue 1, is not on the shortlist of the Premier League leaders for substitutes for Sergio Aguero.
It is alleged that City are admirers of Mbappe, who has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season but will not attempt to sign him over fears that his salary expectations could cause problems in the dressing room.

It has been reported that Mbappe would like his next deal – with PSG or another club – to be worth around £ 600,000 a week.
The former Monaco striker has just over a year left on his current contract and is expected to receive a free transfer in the summer of 2022. PSG are reportedly asking interested clubs to pay £ 174million for him if the transfer window reopens.
Real Madrid remain favorites to sign Mbappe and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in one of football’s most exciting young talents.
However, it looks like City won’t be in the race to sign it as they try to keep the harmony in Pep Guardiola’s roster.

Although Aguero is in the market this summer to replace Aguero, The athlete report that City are prioritizing a move for Borussia Dortmund’s prolific striker Erling Haaland.
And although Real, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all interested in the Norwegian, he is considered a cheaper option than Mbappe.
Guardiola are also said to be interested in Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Spurs captain Harry Kane, although the English striker’s price tag may be too high.
Moving to town for Mbappe would be more profitable without a transfer fee payable in 2022, but Guardiola remains keen to bolster his attack options this summer.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has also been considered but Spurs may be asking too much
Aguero has barely played a role during this tenure during an injury and illness, while questions remain open about Gabriel Jesus’ ability to be the captain of the city.
Mbappe wants to earn roughly the same as his close friend and teammate Neymar in the next deal he signs after another stellar season.
The 22-year-old has scored 25 goals and eight assists in 32 games so far. This helped Mauricio Pochettino with the side challenge for the Ligue 1 title and reached the knockout round of the Champions League.
