The laptop is certified for the military and has a 14-inch Full HD Corning Gorilla Glass touch display with a narrow bezel. The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 is said to be the company’s first laptop to use the latest generation of AMD Ryzen mobile processors.
Acer Chromebook Spin 514 price, availability
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 costs from USD 479 (approx. Rs. 35,000) in the US and from EUR 529 (approx. Rs. 47,400) in the EMEA markets. It will be available in North America in February and in EMEA in March. The Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514, on the other hand, costs from US $ 749 (approx. Rs. 54,800) in the US and from € 799 (approx. Rs. 71,600) in EMEA. Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 will be available in North America and EMEA starting March this year. The company has not yet released any information on the availability of the laptops in India.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 has a 14-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has slim 6.1mm side bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 78 percent. It has a backlit keyboard and is MIL-STD 810H compliant. The case of the 2-in-1 laptop is made of anodized, sandblasted aluminum and features a stylish diamond pattern on the top cover and touchpad. According to Acer, the laptop is designed to withstand falls from a height of up to 122 cm and withstand a downward force of up to 60 kg.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 is considered to be the first company to integrate the latest generation of mobile processors from the AMD Ryzen 3000 series. Models with AMD Ryzen 7 3700C or Ryzen 5 3500C quad-core processors ship with integrated AMD Radeon Vega Mobile Graphics. In addition, the Chromebook Spin 514 has up to 16 GB DDR4 DRAM and up to 256 GB memory. The company says the laptop can last 10 hours and weighs just 1.55 kg. It’s also 17.35mm thin.
The ports on the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 include two USB Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps)) ports, both of which support DisplayPort over USB Type-C and USB charging. There’s also a microSD card reader and an HDMI port for connectivity. There are two built-in stereo speakers, two microphones and support for Google Assistant is also introduced. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi 5 (802.11a / b / g / n / ac), 2×2 MU-MIMO technology, HD webcam and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 comes with advanced software and security. For example, there’s a zero-touch registration feature that IT departments can take advantage of, which essentially allows the laptop to automatically log into company administration at the end of the day, when the user connects to the Internet. Both laptops offer access to the Google Play Store, as is the case with all ChromeOS laptops.
