Apple Spring Event 2021 could be just around the corner. Historically, the Cupertino-based tech giant holds special events in March to announce something new. Apple hasn’t officially announced anything about its Spring 2021 event yet, but it’s rumored that this time around there will be upgrades for iPad Pro, AirPods, and Apple TV. It’s also speculated that the company is bringing its expected AirTags and a brand new iMac with an updated design. Apple could surprise us with something else at this year’s March event.
In 2019, Apple used its spring event to offer new services, namely Apple TV +, Apple Card, Apple News + and Apple Arcade. The company didn’t host a similar event in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but made some new announcements. This included the iPad Pro 2020 and the last MacBook Air based on Intel processors.
This year, Apple may host a virtual event to showcase its new hardware. These can be new iPad Pro, Apple TV, AirPods, and updated iMac models. The event could also start the rumored AirTags.
The Apple Spring Event 2021 could take place as early as March 16, if we believe some rumors. However, Apple has yet to send out invitations and confirm the exact date.
In the meantime, please take a look at the following brief summary of the products Apple is expected to showcase at its Spring 2021 event next month.
iPad Pro (2021)
One of the upcoming devices that Apple could introduce at its spring event in 2021 is said to be the iPad Pro (2021), which is said to be equipped with a mini LED display. The new iPad Pro models could also include 5G mmWave support and a new Apple chip. Apple may further improve the OLED display experience later this year.
Apple TV (2021)
Apple is expected to upgrade the Apple TV with a few changes from the device introduced three years ago. The Apple TV (2021) could include an A12X chip and some hardware-level improvements, including 64GB and 128GB storage options, to provide an enhanced viewing experience.
AirPods 3 aka AirPods (2021)
Aside from the new iPad Pro and Apple TV models, Apple is slated to introduce its next-generation AirPods model, which could be called AirPods 3 or AirPods (2021). It is rumored that the new model is similar in design to the AirPods Pro. Apple is also likely to offer AirPods Pro’s system-in-package (SiP) technology to replace its existing surface-mount technology for clearer audio, advanced detection of Siri commands, and improved noise cancellation.
Apple is also expected to launch a new iMac with an updated design this year. The iMac (2021) will likely also feature Apple’s M1 chip to improve performance over existing iMac models with Intel technology. However, it is speculated that the silicon-based Apple MacBook models – in addition to those introduced last year – will hit the market later this year. Apple is also rumored to have a 24-inch iMac in the works that could debut next month.
Last but not least, Apple is expected to bring the highly anticipated AirTags to its spring 2021 event. The Bluetooth tracker the company allegedly developed for Tile is said to be waterproof and magnetically charged. It will likely come with a removable battery as well. Apple has tacitly updated its Find My app to allow easy tracking of lost items via the AirTags. In addition, some newer iOS builds included references to the AirTags. Apple has yet to officially confirm the development.
