The macOS Big Sur 11.1 update was released a month after Apple’s new macOS Big Sur officially launched. The update adds support for AirPods Max – the recently introduced over-ear headphones. It also includes App Store privacy labels and Apple News widgets, as well as an updated Photos app that now allows users to edit Apple ProRAW photos. From now on, Weather and Siri will provide air quality health recommendations for countries like India, the UK and the US.
macOS Big Sur 11.1 changelog
The macOS Big Sur 11.1 update is the biggest since Apple introduced macOS 11 Big Sur to users last month. It brought a redesigned user interface, an updated menu bar that is more translucent than ever, full-height sidebars, a redesigned dock with updated app icons, and an updated control center. The latest update brings bug fixes for Mac, support for AirPods Max, improvements to the TV app, and privacy information in the App Store.
As mentioned earlier, compatible computers with the macOS Big Sur 11.1 update can plug in the recently introduced Apple AirPods Max over-ear headphones, which offer high-fidelity audio for rich sound. There’s also a new tab for Apple TV + and the searches have been improved so that users can search by categories such as genre.
The next big update in macOS Big Sur 11.1 update is related to Apple News. Apple News widgets are now available in the Notification Center. The changes in the App Store include a new section with privacy information on the App Store pages. This section also includes a developer-reported summary of the app’s privacy practices. In addition, there are new window options for iPhone and iPad apps on Apple Mac computers with the M1 chip. These window options allow users to switch between landscape and portrait orientation, or expand a window to fill the entire screen according to the change log.
The macOS Big Sur 11.1 update also brings new features to the Photos app. Users can now edit Apple ProRAW photos themselves in the app. In addition, Siri provides air quality health recommendations for countries such as Germany, India, Mexico, Great Britain, and the US at certain air quality levels. The function is also available in Maps and Siri for locations in China.
