Microsoft has announced the release of Office 2021 and Office 2021 LTSC for personal use and small business. The LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) version is intended for commercial use. These new software versions will be available later this year. A commercial preview of Microsoft Office LTSC will be available in April. Office 2021 is the successor to Office 2019, and the LTSC version includes dark mode support for multiple apps and performance improvements for Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
In a blog post, Microsoft announced that the LTSC versions for Office 2021 and Office 2021 will be available later this year. An exact launch schedule has not been disclosed, and details of new features will also be announced closer to general availability.
New Office LTSC features include dark mode support for multiple apps and features like Dynamic Arrays and XLOOKUP in Microsoft Excel. There will also be accessibility and performance improvements in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Microsoft states that the next version of Office will not ship with Skype for Business and will instead be available as a separate download from the Microsoft Download Center. However, the Microsoft Teams app will be bundled in Office 2021.
The company confirmed that Office LTSC will continue to be a device-based “perpetual” license and that Microsoft will increase the price of Office Professional Plus, Office Standard and the individual apps by up to 10 percent at the time of general availability. The LTSC versions for Office 2021 and Office 2021 are available for both Windows and Mac users. It comes with the OneNote app and supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
In April last year Microsoft replaced Office 365 with Microsoft 365. The new offer not only includes Office apps, but also OneDrive cloud storage and a brand new Outlook. Microsoft 365 Personal can be subscribed to for a month at Rs. 420 while Microsoft 365 Family is available at Rs. 530 per month in India.
