Poco could launch laptops in India as two laptop battery models were reportedly discovered on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. The model numbers R15B02W and R14B02W are listed with both the Mi and Poco branding, suggesting that these could be renamed Mi laptops that will be introduced under the Poco branding. It seems like Poco, which has recently become a globally independent brand, is looking to diversify its portfolio beyond smartphones. As of now, the brand has not disclosed any information about upcoming laptops.
The Poco branded laptops are expected to ship with the R15B02W and R14B02W battery models, as tweeted by well-known tipster Mukul Sharma. These model numbers were discovered on the BIS certification website, meaning they will be introduced in the country at some point. However, both models have been listed under the Mi and Poco brands, further suggesting that they may be rebranded Mi laptops that will be launched under the Poco brand. That’s not at all surprising given the number of Poco phones that have been renamed as Redmi phones.
According to an AliExpress listing, the battery with model number R15B02W appears to belong to Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro 15, which is available in China. Judging by the model number of the R14B02W, it could be a 14-inch version of the laptop. These laptop models could come to India under the Poco branding.
Other than the model numbers for the batteries, there is no information about these rumored laptops. Xiaomi is offering the Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Editions in India and recently added a Mi Notebook 14 E-Learning Edition to the Mi Laptop portfolio.
Earlier this month, a phone believed to be a Poco M3 was discovered on the Google Play Supported Devices page with the model number M2010J19CI, suggesting that it will be launched in India in the future. Poco M3 debuted in Europe last month and is a budget-friendly offering.
