The National Center for the Development of Technologies and Basic Elements of Robotics of the Fund of the Russian Foundation for Advanced Research has released a photo of its new version of the modular unmanned ground vehicle called Marker.
On Wednesday, the National Center’s press release announced that the prototype of an autonomous platform with wheels had traveled 30 kilometers during the test in the Chelyabinsk region.
“The route of the vehicle was laid through an unprepared area – a forest steppe covered with snow,” it said in a statement. “The autonomous platform motion control system, which had been assigned a route with the coordinates of a certain point, ensured that the platform would arrive at the finish line in an hour and a half, relying on the data from the technical image processing system running on a new neural network based algorithms. The autonomous control system of the platform movement enables the autonomous relocation and adjustment of the movement route in the case of obstacles – trees, climbs, ravines, bushes, etc. “.”
The Marker Robot Platform is a joint project of the National Center for the Development of Technologies and Basic Robotic Elements of the Advanced Research Fund and the Research and Production Association for Android Technology (developer of the humanoid Fedor robot). The new combat robot is intended to form the basis for testing the interoperability of ground robots, unmanned aerial vehicles and special forces.
The marker is positioned as a modular kit for creating unmanned vehicles for future warfare.
