On New Year’s Eve, several tactical Bundeswehr vehicles were damaged in the Leipzig district of Heiterblick, police spokesman Olaf Hoppe said on Friday morning.
The police assume arson based on initial findings.
According to the police, seven out of ten vehicles are “badly damaged” in an arson attack. The vehicles of the Wolf G-Class were parked on the premises of a car dealership.
The state criminal police took over the investigation.
It is worth noting that the district is a stronghold of the left alternative scene and has a history of violence between activists and police.
The Wolf is an unarmored off-road vehicle used by the German military. It was manufactured by Daimler-Benz.
