The U.S. Marine Corps shared its experience of using the lightweight off-road platform as a mobile command post and communications vehicle.
According to a press release released on Sunday by the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the use of the all-terrain vehicle MRZR (Military RZR) improves mobility of communication skills.
The vehicles are agile, narrow and can easily traverse terrain, which other vehicles cannot. This is an ideal advantage for highly mobile forces on the modern battlefield.
The newest and lightest command post is designed to provide greater mobility, range, and command and control for light forces.
Special Polaris’ MRZR platform is equipped with a basic package that includes radio and data radios that enable Cross Cross Banding and Friendly Force Situational Awareness. tactical messaging; and full motion imagery at a standstill.
MRZR is designed for the versatility of missions and offers a 500 lb stern box capacity, auxiliary power and attachment points for cargo with space for up to 6 people.
According to Polaris, the vehicle is designed to be as expeditionary as the soldiers who are counting on it. MRZR models have aircraft lashing straps and a collapsible roll cage.
