On Friday, Ukroboronprom State Concern General Director Yuriy V Gusev said the Ukrainian Army is buying a new batch of 75 BTR-4E Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) for its soldiers.
The award of the contract by the Ukrainian military enables the Kharkiv Morozov Design Bureau (KMDB), which is part of UkrOboronProm, to manufacture a new batch of BTR-4 combat vehicles. The new contract includes the production of 75 infantry combat vehicles (IFV), 1 BTR-4K command vehicle and a BREM-4RM armored recovery vehicle.
The BTR-4E is a purely Ukrainian development and competes with global counterparts. The national sample of lightly armored vehicles has powerful weapons, high speed, and considerable protection for the crew.
As noted by the UkrOboronProm, nearly 80 BTR-4E added to the Ukrainian army during military operations in the east of the country. The manufacture of this type of domestic military equipment gives jobs to 27,000 workers in 100 companies in the Ukrainian defense industry. The closed production cycle and import substitution program allow the use of domestic components, not Russian ones.
